Vault Snack #18 – New Feature Announcement for all Users

    CDD Vault Snack Logo

Hello, CDD Vault users, welcome to the October Vault Snack. On Monday, the CDD development team will deploy a new Structure Editor within CDD Vault. Ketcher will become the tool used for drawing chemical structures and reactions within the main CDD Vault Explore Data > Search, ELN tabs, and Create a new Molecule form.

The layout of the new structure editor is very similar to the current one, so we hope there will be minimal disruption or inconvenience. We are planning to actively develop the editor, from the look and feel to shortcuts to templates, so please do not hesitate to send us your ideas. We value your feedback and hope to hear from you as we evolve this new Structure Editor.

One difference you may notice right away is how to rotate a structure. Previously, you would select the structure using the Select tool and use a rotate icon that appeared directly on the selected structure.  Now, there is a separate Rotate tool in the left-hand toolbar that allows you to grab a structure for rotation.

You'll see the new Structure Editor go live on Monday, October 31st. As always, let me know your thoughts and send over any feedback you have on the new structure editor.

If this Vault Snack leaves you hungry for more, all previous Vault Snacks can be found here and as always, feel free to contact CDD Support - we are available to help you succeed in using CDD Vault.
