Virtual Pharma, Externalization, FIPNet, VIPCO - like gravity, you can fight it but you will lose (Part 3 - Partitioning)

Collaborative - flexible, facile, secure data partitioning

To really support the virtual model and externalization, the technology must be collaborative, with data partitioning designed into the application.   Optimally the technology is 100% in the Cloud (unless folks are intentionally trying to be more expensive).

Today, security in a hosted environment is a commodity, a given, the prerequisite for being in the game.   CDD has passed multiple big pharma and government audits and accreditation processes, as well as colo- visits in person.  At CDD, we've turned the question of Security on its head to emphasize our "Security Advantage".

Beyond the security fundamentals, an elegant solution needs to allow users to come-and-go as business rules evolve - without poking holes in firewalls or huge corporate databases.  CDD has a competitive advantage with intuitive, configurable Projects engineered right into CDD Vaults.  By building the collaborative capabilities for researchers' natural workflows directly in the technology, people just work with whatever data they are permitted.   If a researcher is not part of a project, not only do they not access the associated data, but they are blissfully unaware of the Project's existence.

All the data partitioning and access privileges are controlled discretely in the background.  For whatever data or projects accessible it is trivial to expand or contract the views for analysis across one or more projects.  Researchers can have microscopic or telescopic views of internal, collaborative, or external data.
