CDD Vault Celebrates 2-Millionth User Login with Arkuda Therapeutics

Jim Lanter, Ph.D.

CDD is excited to celebrate another milestone with Massachusetts-based Arkuda Therapeutics. Jim Lanter, Senior Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Arkuda Therapeutics, scored the lucky 2-millionth login to the CDD Vault hosted informatics platform in December 2020.

Arkuda is applying new insights into lysosomal biology to drive the development of medicines to change the trajectory of neurodegenerative disease. Arkuda's first-in-class lead program aims to correct progranulin deficiency and lysosomal dysfunction in GRN-related frontotemporal dementia (FTD-GRN), a genetically-defined subtype of frontotemporal dementia caused by an autosomal dominant mutation in the progranulin (GRN) gene.

CDD Vault serves as a centralized repository for all of Arkuda's data, including chemical structures and their supporting analytical data and biological testing results. It also functions as the scientists' electronic laboratory notebook where all team members can access assay protocols and up to the minute experimental details.

"The Vault's powerful and flexible system not only facilitates rapid compound registration from our external medicinal chemistry teams but also seamlessly integrates this information with a wide range of in vitro and in vivo testing results," said Dr. Lanter, "This enables rapid assessment of the developing SAR across multiple dimensions; everyone appreciates how well the system works while requiring virtually no internal IT support."

"It took us 15 years to reach one million logins, but less than 2 years to reach two million," according to Dr. Barry Bunin, CEO of CDD, "The accelerating growth is proof that our investment into the platform and customer success is paying off, and we are grateful to be able to partner with organizations like Arkuda who are making a positive influence on human health."
