Alex and Daniel will describe the modeling approaches their teams used to achieve high-ranking positions on the leaderboard, along with other learnings from participating in the challenge.
Alex Rich
Head of Machine Learning at Inductive Bio
Alex leads machine learning at Inductive Bio, where he works with medicinal and computational chemists, software engineers, and ML scientists to build tools that accelerate small-molecule drug discovery. Prior to Inductive, Alex built clinical oncology datasets at Flatiron Health, and studied algorithmic bias in ML during his PhD at NYU.
Daniel Crusius
Molecular AI Research Engineer at deepmirror
Daniel is a molecular AI research engineer at deepmirror, where he develops machine-learning approaches for chemical and biological discovery. He holds a DPhil in computational discovery from the University of Oxford, combining molecular simulation with machine learning to accelerate drug discovery, in collaboration with IBM Research. Previously, he worked at Pangea Bio at the intersection of AI and cheminformatics, building large-scale foundation models and software tools to support early-stage natural product-based drug discovery.
