CDD Vault Powers Virtual Pharma Distributed Drug Discovery

Dr. Mike Pollastri spent almost a decade as a research scientist in Big Pharma (Pfizer) before turning to academia and today he is running one of the best known neglected disease research labs in the world at Northeastern University.

Drug Discovery projects for Neglected Disease research are chronically underfunded, but nowadays this also is true for many drug discovery operations from Biotech to Academia.

Mike uses the virtual pharma model, working with a network of partnerships and distributed responsibilities to get just as much accomplished with his small lab as if it was a larger drug discovery company.

Leveraging his expertise from his time as a scientist at Pfizer he is running a mostly virtual operation, elegantly bringing all his partners’ expertise and experimental results together. CDD Vault is the informatics environment in his virtual operation, being the hub for all partners to archive, mine and collaborate.

Mike generously is sharing this slide set which he presented at the 250th meeting of the ACS 2015 so that others who think they can not afford to run drug discovery can consider this economical distributed, virtual model....and to see CDD Vault in action.
