    Open, Collaborative, & Private Funding

    Following up on our Open, Collaborative, & Private Data and Model posts...

    Best of all, the BMGF included a collaborative approach leveraging open data (available from MMV and CDD) in their recent grand challenges which means the community will be able to see for the first time what happens with real dollars behind these different modes of collaboration:

    We applaud these efforts.  And note with a touch of playful irony the competition in the open space.

    For CDD, solo, teaming, and collaborative grants and contracts are common.  It will be interesting to see how the funding and science operates in this new open mode.
