CDD Vault Update: Batches can have files too

    File_batch_field

The last two releases brought you files-as-readouts. Now you can treat files as a special type of batch field. What does this mean? It means that you can associate images and other files directly with your structures! NMR spectra, MSDS sheets, crystal structures, requisition forms; you get the idea. Vault administrators will need to define the batch field with a “file” data type before users are able to manually attach a file (of any type and size), or import files in bulk for an entire library. Vault administrators can even make a file field required when registering new batches. These new file batch fields behave the same as readout file attachments, so that images (JPG, TIFF, GIF, PNG, BMP) and PDF files appear with previews, while all other files appear as downloadable hyperlinks. Images will appear both on the molecule details page, and in the search results, where they can be exported. If you do not know how to attach files, keep reading the recent changes notes from the past two weeks. And here’s how to define batch fields.
