Angie Santini, | Sr Scientist | 858 Therapeutics |Talk: 858 Therapeutics Discovery and Characterization of the PARG Inhibitor ETX-19477
Angie Santini, is a Sr. Scientist of biology at 8Five8 Therapeutics, which is developing a portfolio of small-molecule drugs that act on novel therapeutic targets in oncology and immunology. Angie has a 25+ years of drug discovery experience in the biotech/pharmaceuticals industry with experience in multiple fields including neuroscience, fibrosis, and oncology. She has been focused on drug development, basic research, target validation, assay development, screening, and DC characterization.
Duncan McColl | Dr of Engineering | Unnatural Products | Talk: CDD Vault Enhanced Engineering at Unnatural Products
A builder at heart, Duncan is driven by the challenge of shaping ideas into scalable systems that empower scientific discovery. As Director of Engineering at Unnatural Products, he leads engineering efforts and shape product direction to accelerate macrocycle drug discovery. Duncan began in cancer genomics at UCSC, applying ML to biological data, and found a passion for building clean, powerful tools that remove friction from scientific insight.
John Bucci |Research Informatics | Plexium | Talk: Building Seamless Data Pipelines for Efficient Drug Discovery and Collaboration
John Bucci is an informatician/data scientist with over 14 years of experience in biotech and drug discovery, specializing in developing automated data analysis pipelines, ML models and informatics solutions tailored for chemists and biologists. John is currently at Plexium in the Research Informatics group leveraging cheminformatics and data science techniques to support library chemistry and high throughput screening teams and accelerate drug discovery.
Dr. Mike Hanson | CEO | Atelier Therapeutics | Talk: Utilization and integration of CDD Vault in a startup biotech
Michael formed Atelier Therapeutics in 2024 to address a growing unmet need in chronic inflammation and neurodegenerative disorders. He has extensive experience in drug discovery, developing cutting edge technology, and entrepreneurship with previous roles as CSO of Abilita Bio, CTO & Founder of Structure Therapeutics, etc. Michael played a significant role in building and implementing a "toolbox" of techniques for protein chemistry and structural determination of integral membrane proteins such as GPCRs. He has led early-stage discovery and made inventive contributions to four clinical-stage programs, including Zeposia, an approved therapy for multiple sclerosis and ulcerative colitis.
Jair Siqueira-Neto | Assoc. Prof. Screening Core Director | UCSD | Talk: Drug Discovery Programs Against Tropical Diseases in Academia
Prof. Siqueira-Neto dedicated the last 18 years of his career to leading teams in discovering new therapies, particularly for neglected tropical diseases. He has a deep expertise in high-throughput screening, pharmacokinetics, and in vivo models. The Siqueira-Neto lab at UCSD develops and validates HTS assays to identify biologically active compounds from large libraries of small molecules and natural products, primarily targeting infectious diseases.
Vladimir Makarov | AI Program Manager, Pistoia Alliance | Talk: Faster Drug Discovery through FAIR Standards
Vladimir Makarov is a highly creative and accomplished professional with deep expertise in bioinformatics, biotechnology, and AI. With a Ph.D. in Computational Biology from Baylor College of Medicine, he has built a dynamic career spanning scientific research, consulting, and strategic innovation. Currently consulting Pistoia Alliance as AI Program Manager, Vladimir is passionate about data quality and standardization. He also worked as a consultant for Pfizer and Amgen and as a Dr. of Bioinformatics at Exelixis and Monsanto.
Kellan Gregory | Dr of Product | CDD | Talk: The Future of Discovery: CDD Vault’s Roadmap Toward Smarter Science.
Kellan Gregory is CDD’s Head of Products. He has a degree in Chemical Engineering with an emphasis in biotechnology from Tufts University. Kellan was co-author in an HIV study with Dr. Paul A. Volberding, and interned with BioRad and Libraria.
Janice Darlington | Customer Engagement Scientist | CDD | Talk: From Insight to Impact: Empowering Discovery Acceleration Through Integrated Technologies
Janice Darlington is a Customer Engagement Scientist at Collaborative Drug Discovery. She has supported CDD's scientific community in their research workflows since 2019. Her scientific background spans 27+ years in the San Diego drug discovery landscape.
