Working across the entire CDD Vault data model, the CDD Vault Claude Connector is available today as an optional no-cost early release for Claude Desktop (Pro and Enterprise).

Today we're enhancing how you use Vault by making that data conversational.

What you can do

The connector links your Claude assistant directly to CDD Vault, so you can:

• Search chemical structures in natural language. Ask Claude to find molecules in CDD Vault similar to a reference compound, then return each molecule’s molecular weight, hydrogen-bond donors and acceptors, and a direct link back to its record — all in one request.
  
  
• Analyze assay and protocol data. Point Claude at a bioassay (or protocol) and ask it to surface problematic compounds, filter readouts, or spot outliers across runs.
  
  
• Generate reports from complex questions. Turn a multi-part research question into a structured, sourced answer without touching a spreadsheet or leveling up on coding skills.
  
  
• Drive day-to-day CDD Vault work. Register new compounds, run imports, and manage records conversationally — the same actions you’d take in the Vault GUI are now available through Claude.

Built for the full CDD Vault data model

The connector provides access to the full breadth of the CDD Vault API — search, read, create, update, import, and export — across molecules, batches, protocols, runs, readouts, ELN entries, collections, projects, plates, sample inventory, saved searches, registration forms, dose-response plots, imports, exports, files, and more. One AI conversation, your entire CDD Vault.

Guided, predictable, and human-in-the-loop

The connector ships with built-in guidance for common workflows — registering compounds, running imports, filtering readouts, handling large result sets — so you get correct, predictable behavior out of the box.

It’s designed to keep you in control. By default, the connector asks for confirmation before running tasks, keeping the human in the loop. Large language models are powerful, but can be confidently wrong.

Your data, your rules, your API key

The CDD Vault Claude Connector is a bring-your-own-key integration. It uses your own CDD Vault API token and gives Claude exactly the level of access that token has. We strongly recommend connecting with a read-only token or a restricted account to bound what the assistant can do.

Your use of Claude is governed by your agreement with Anthropic. Anthropic is not a CDD subprocessor for this connector, and your Vault data stays under your control. You hold the key, you decide the scope, and you can rotate or revoke access at any time. It reflects the same principle that has defined CDD Vault since Day 1.

How to get it

The integration is available now as an early release, distributed as a one-click .mcpb installation bundle for Claude Desktop Pro or Enterprise. Once you receive the bundle from CDD Support, unzip it and drag it into Claude Desktop — SHA-512 signatures are included so you can verify authenticity before installing.
