    Q3 2026 Product Update Webinar Recap – Unlock the Power of the CDD Vault API

    CDD Vault’s API enables researchers to access and interact with molecules, protocols, ELN entries, and other data outside of the standard CDD Vault interface. During CDD’s latest Quarterly Product Update, we hosted Americas and Europe/Asia sessions moderated by Kelly Bachovchin, PhD, Customer Engagement Scientist, and featuring Ralphie Fiorenza, Product Manager, and Antima Gupta, PhD, Senior Application Scientist. The webinars covered API fundamentals, recent updates, automated data ingestion, OpenAPI documentation, CDD Vault’s integration with Claude, and options for connecting CDD Vault with other research systems.

     

    Getting Started with the CDD Vault API

    API tokens connect CDD Vault with external applications and follow the permissions of the user who generates them, with options for read-only or read-and-write access. Users can create multiple tokens for different applications and workflows.

    CDD Vault’s OpenAPI documentation provides an interactive reference for available endpoints, parameters, and example responses. The webinar demonstrated how the OpenAPI schema can be imported into Postman, automatically creating a collection of endpoints that users can configure and test.

    Expanding What You Can Do Through the API

    New search capabilities allow users to create saved searches using protocol data, substructure queries, chemical properties, collections, and keywords. Molecule and batch queries can then reference these searches to retrieve specific subsets of data.

    Additional endpoints support metadata and pick-list management, curve fitting, and AI capabilities, including deep-learning similarity and bioisosteric suggestions without first registering a molecule. Users can also update readout rows, move batches between molecules, and incorporate registration into computational workflows.

    Automating Data Ingestion and Research Workflows

    The webinar demonstrated automated data ingestion using the POST Slurps endpoint with a 96-well plate reader file. A CDD Vault File Parser transformed the original output, while a saved mapping template assigned the data to the appropriate fields in CDD Vault, allowing the file to be processed and added within seconds.

    The same approach can support molecule and batch registration and data received from CROs, with options to automatically resolve ambiguous events or flag them for human review.

    Connecting CDD Vault with Claude

    The webinar showed how Claude can use CDD Vault data through the API to analyze compound and assay data, create a structure-activity relationship (SAR) map, and search for additional molecules associated with improved potency.

    Access can be controlled through CDD Vault API permissions and within Claude, where individual endpoints can be allowed, blocked, or require approval.

    Integrations and Custom Workflows

    Another demonstration showed how DataWarrior can connect with CDD Vault through the API, allowing users to access saved searches and projects directly from the application.
