Human vs. Machine-Enhanced Scientific DiscoveryAugust 10, 2016-Join Mark Musen (Stanford), Janice Kranz and Stephan Schürer (University of Miami) for CDD’s Q3 Town Hall Webinar, “Human vs. Machine-Enhanced Scientific Discovery” We’re seeing ‘Big Data’ everywhere: healthcare, business, sports, traffic control, biology, drug discovery. The ‘behind-the-scenes’ tool enabling the power of Big Data – searching, sharing, visualizing, querying, analyzing – is the Semantic Web (aka ‘Web 3.0’). [...]
Genentech & UCSF Ponder Optimal Library Selection for Drug DiscoveryMay 5, 2016- Join us for CDD’s 2nd Town Hall Webinar, “Optimal Library Selection for Drug Discovery” Researchers agree that selecting the best libraries for optimizing their drug discovery is a vital part of the process. Unfortunately, this is likely where most agreement ends. Even the idea that scientists should avoid so-called “Dark Chemical Matter” compounds seems [...]
CDD Spring Tour – ADDC, EB, ASPET, BioIT, UCSD, PPPMarch 18, 2016-“Spring is the time of plans and projects.” -Leo Tolstoy In Anna Karenina, Leo Tolstoy wrote that “Spring is the time of plans and projects.” How Leo knew of CDD Vault’s collaborative Project design is beyond us, but he was correct in asserting that Spring is the time to plan on joining CDD as we [...]

CDD Town Hall Webinar: Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) for Drug DiscoveryFebruary 24, 2016- SAVE THE DATE for CDD’s inaugural Town Hall: What are Public-Private Partnerships for Drug Discovery? In recent decades, the proliferation of world-wide epidemics and health emergencies (such as HIV, MERS, Ebola, and most recently Zika) has inspired efforts to improve the pace of drug discovery through large-scale collaborations. So-called Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) have been [...]
CDD Webinar: Industry Leaders Discuss the Challenges of Modern Drug DiscoveryOctober 11, 2015-CDD proudly invites you to discuss how our fields are evolving with industry thought leaders. CDD will explore the rate of evolution of our communities current understanding and state of the art of Biology, Chemistry and Software. Gene drive, molecular machines, semantic web - looking into the future sheds light on the present. Exploring these trends should be provocative for the forward-thinking drug discovery researcher.
Members of CDD's customer advisory board will be available to discuss their perspectives plus interactive Q&A with the scientific Community. CDD previously announced following industry thought leaders were carefully selected to help guide the short-term and long-term development of the CDD Vault platform with the broader scientific community:
CDD Vault Webinar: Wrangling all your Diverse Assay DataAugust 20, 2015-Online Webinar: Wed Sept 30th at 9am PT, noon ET, 4pm GMT
A collaborative webinar by Dr. Dale Cameron (viDA Therapeutics) with Dr. Barbara Holtz and Charlie Weatherall
Have you ever wondered about the cost vs benefits of a shared resource for your full project team? What are the benefits versus sharing excel files or traditional databases for screening biologists, medicinal chemists, and other key collaborators? How can it work?
Find out how viDA Therapeutics (and you) can save time and money relative to the "large amount of labor it took" to maintain multiple tools. How did a project team go from starting out using just flat files to mach-6 with CDD Vault. Why was it the right solution and the right time? Why did they buy? How did it work and even exceed expectations?
See first-hand how a hosted, secure collaborative system makes information available for...

On Demand Video from the pIC50 Scientific WebinarApril 15, 2015-CDD’s recent live webinar event about the merits of pIC50 was a great success. To summarize, Dr. Marc Navre endeavored to convince the audience to think logarithmically, and why the use of pIC50 values to share the results of in vitro assays with colleagues is easier, smarter and cleaner than using “old-fashioned” IC50 values. Live examples of using CDD Vault and CDD Vision to enable these calculations were also presented.
If you missed it, or would like to share with your colleagues, you can download the slides or check out the complete presentation...
